CG Breakdown - Fallen Ember

CG Breakdown - Fallen Ember

In this project, under the direction and guidance of Josh Parks, I was asked to integrate a CG creature into a live-action plate, focusing on areas like tracking, grading, and dynamic particle effects.

To begin, I integrated the CG creature into the shot in the desired position and did some roto around the actors arm to help sit it into the shot properly.

Next, I began to regrade the creature to more closely match the environment and work on changing the normals to add some visual flare to the creature.

The next step was to use particle effects to add embers to the foreground of the shot - taking care to carefully match the colour of the embers to that of the creature to ensure visual cohesion.

Finally, I added a variety of lens dirt assets and added a small glow to the embers to finish off the shot.
